Remembering "Cool" Betty with great fondness. This was the nickname given to Betty by our sons who were young teenagers when she visited us in New Brunswick. Betty was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. She had a zest for life and always tried to find the positive in everything. Her deep faith was at the centre of her ministry to others. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family who have lost their matriarch.

Dear Bill, Cathy, Mike and Patricia.
I would like to extend our deepest sympathy at the loss of your mother.
I remember the many fun day on Inshes Ave playing in the yard with Mike and walking home from St. Joe's School some days.
I remember mom at daily Holy Mass in the Chaple and talking with her how all of you are doing. There are many memories that come to mind that we can cherish. I will keep her in my prayers at Holy Mass over the next few days as we near All Souls Feast Day Nov. 2nd. May she rest in peace. She is together with your dad. God bless.

To Bill and Family
Condolences on the passing of your mother Bill. Cherish the many memories you and your family have in her 100 years. We spoke occasionally of her and you telling me how her mind stayed so sharp and how she was able to stay in her home taking care of herself with help for so long.

Dear Bill, Cathy, Michael, Trisha, and families. I remember as a child visiting your home one summer evening with my Mom and Dad. Daddy wanted to visit his brother, Phil. We were vacationing with my grandparents at Port Stanley. Cathy, you and I were given some money to walk to the store and buy whatever we wanted. When we got back to your place with our snacks, there were fireflies in the back yard! I’d never seen them before. That was my first memory of your family. My second was the next morning, when we all had breakfast together around your dining room table. Aunt Betty set a beautiful table, even for breakfast. She was so gracious. Throughout the years, and the miles, she and I connected at Christmas...always a beautiful card from her...in her tiny handwriting. Aunt Betty could update me about all her kids, her grands, and great-grands, all in the space of one side of that card. She was so proud of you! In recent years, as I needed a magnifying glass to read them, it boggled my mind, as to how she could write so small. This Christmas won’t seem complete, somehow. My love and prayers to all of you. Bonnie

My Mom, Isabel Ripley, and Betty were friends as far back as I can remember. Betty was a rock for my Mom when my Dad passed. After Mom passed in 1994, I was thrilled to keep in touch with Betty. And I'm one of likely quite a few, who felt like she was my second Mom. I loved getting Christmas cards right up til last year. We were thrilled and honoured to help her celebrate her 90th birthday. Sending condolences to her family but celebrating a wonderful life well-lived. Patricia (Ripley) Thornton.

We feel so very fortunate to have spent 3 years with Betty here at Grandview Apts as resident managers.
We came to know her well and enjoyed talking about years gone by, Toronto Maple Leafs and of course the Blue Jays.
The birthday cards were the best! We looked so forward to them all the time.
Spoke to her many times after she left for Park lane Terrace.
She will be missed by many here and all our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family.
Sincerely
Dave and Kim T

So many memories of Aunt Betty. Primary the one of her 90th birthday celebration that she planned in great detail. She relished being able to celebrate with family and friends.
She was a strong and determined woman who was able to live on her own (with help) and then embraced her new home at Park Lane Terrace.
It was so kind of her to visit our dad when he was in Marian Villa.
Loved getting to know her again.

I was saddened to hear of Betty's death. After hearing the news, I thought about the legacy that she is leaving behind. She taught her children and her children's children. Think about all the generations that have been and will be blessed by the life that she lived.
I was impressed by her ability to make everyone feel welcome and at home and I am certain that she was a second Mom to many. Please accept my condolences on the loss of this remarkable woman.

My deepest heartfelt sympathies to the entire Carruthers on the passing of their matriarch Betty. I have many good memories of my weekly talks with Betty when she would come into Copper Terrace to give the residents their weekly communion. Rest in Peace and enjoy your daily constitution. She always had a wry sense of humor and talk about her entire family with pride and love.

Dear Family my deepest sympathy to all of you. I had the privilege of bringing Holy Communion to Betty on Sundays she was always glad to see me and as I was to see her. She was a mentor to me. I remember one Sunday. My sister had passed away I began to cry she put her arms around me and just let me cry much like a good friend would. I missed her when she moved.
May she rest in peace and the Perpetual Light shine upon her.
Blessings

Condolences on the loss of "Aunt Betty". She was so kind to Susan, especially during the time of Susan's final illness. The wonderful notes, and the mass offering, were of great comfort during a difficult time. Susan truly loved her aunt, and now they will rightfully be joined in heaven.
